This is a great website for information on different drugs as well as advice on how to help a friend who may be developing a problem. There is also a section on teens’ stories as well as a message board and blog to interact with other teens on these issues. This is a very good website for high schoolers.
The Cool Spot
This website would be good for younger teens (middle school). It contains fact sections on alcohol and the known risks of abusing it as well as some tips on how to resist peer pressure. This site is sponsored by NIAAA.

This website sponsored by NIDA has some very good information for younger teens. The information is formatted with quick facts about marijuana and other drugs as well as some good, user friendly information about the brain and how alcohol and drugs interact and negatively impact the brain. There are games and interactive activities that teens would enjoy. There is a great pamphlet for high school students on Marijuana. Most of the sections of this website though are geared for younger teens (late elementary through middle school).

This website, NIDA for Teens, is sponsored by NIDA and is designed for both teens and parents. It presents information on the science behind drug abuse as well as interactive quizzes and games as learning tools. This site also contains a section for parents and teachers with tools to help teens understand the risks associated with drug abuse.
Alateen
Alateen is a support group for teens who come from families with active alcoholism. As a part of Alanon, Alateen is focused on helping teens understand how alcoholism is a family illness but more importantly how to cope if one is living with this illness and where to find support.
Food for thought
In a national poll, two-thirds of 4th graders said they wished their parents would talk more to them about drugs.
